Watch Ian's in-depth review of the Vissla 7 Seas Wetsuit
Watch the Vissla 7 Seas Wetsuit in action.
The Vissla 7 Seas Wetsuit has proven very popular with the Boardshop staff, no mean feat considering the availability of the established “big brands”. The Vissla fit is on a par with O’Neill (traditionally the best fitting brand we’ve stocked) fitting a broad spectrum of body shapes, a testament to the clever seam placement, panel layup and materials used.
The comprehensive 7 Seas family has a wetsuit for all summer applications and temperatures, from the 2/2mm Shorty to the insulated 3/2 steamer. My particular favourite is the 2mm Long Sleeve Shorty, perfect for high-summer here in the UK and a brilliant option for southern Europe.Vissla also offer a traditional 2mm Short Sleeve Fullsuit and the 2mm Long John, particularly popular with paddlers loving the freedom of the sleeveless design.
The 7 Seas winter wetsuits selection boasts everything from the 4/3mm right up to the 5/4/3 Hooded wetsuit with a full Hollow Fibre lining in the body. There is also a comprehensive range of accessories including 3 and 5mm split toe and round toe wetsuit boots, 3mm gloves, 7mm mitts and a Hollow Fibre lined 3mm wetsuit hood.Surfers in Cornwall may well negotiate a full winter in a 4/3mm with good quality boots, gloves and hood, but the vast majority will need 5mm to see the season out.
